I certainly didn’t expect any volunteer edibles in our garden plot this year.
Well, that’s not entirely true, since we’ve already pulled out stray blackberry brambles, but we’re not about to give them garden space. And I always keep an eye out for lambs quarters, which do get garden space while they’re young and tender.
Anyway, we’ve found two volunteer potato plants in our plot. They worked hard to survive and they get to stay. They chose good locations too. One is in a spinach patch that will be done early, and one is on the perimeter of the zucchini hill.
