We had another good weekend for gardening after a rainy week, but unfortunately I spent it indoors. Under the weather, you might say. So on Monday, in spite of rain, we stopped by the garden just to see the progress we’d made before the first of May.
Virtually every seed has sprouted. It’s so satisfying to see those tiny, recognizable seedlings, most less than half an inch high. They’ll start to take off now with our long daylight and the warmer temperatures ahead.
I hated to leave without a token harvest, so I took one stalk of rhubarb that needed to be thinned out, and four sprigs of parsley from the community patch. It’s a beginning.
